Valley View names acute rehab director
Dr. Ron Bonfiglio has joined Valley View Medical Center as medical director of the hospital’s acute rehabilitation program. He will evaluate and oversee the daily treatment and care of patients in Valley View’s ten bed rehabilitation center.
Dr. Bonfiglio is an internal medicine physician who is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He has practiced medicine since 1993 and moved to Arizona in 2008. In addition to Valley View, Dr. Bonfiglio will also see patients three times weekly at sister hospital Havasu Regional Medical Center’s acute rehabilitation unit. Dr. Bonfiglio will also have office hours for patients who are not hospitalized or who have been discharged. Patients seen on an outpatient basis may have conditions including non-surgical, muscle, bone and nerve injuries. He will work with a patient’s primary care physician to chart the best course for care. “We are delighted to have someone with Dr. Bonfiglio’s credentials,” said Valley View CEO Allen Peters. “Valley View has an award-winning acute rehabilitation program and he will help take us to the next level as we expand the department’s size, scope and capabilities.” Dr. Bonfiglio received his Doctor of Medicine in 1989 at the Medical College of Ohio and his Bachelor Degree from Ohio Northern University. He did his medical residency in Ohio and Illinois. He has already participated in area activities including the recent Tri-State Health and Safety Fair in Needles and was a guest speaker at the most recent meeting of the area’s local arthritis and autoimmune disease support group. Dr. Bonfiglio’s office is located on the Valley View campus in Ft. Mohave. Additional information is available by contacting the hospital’s acute rehabilitation unit at 928-788-7008.
