THIS IS THE NEW GSXnews.com!
Golden Sun eXtra News now has a totally new format.

You will find all of your regular weekly favorites on the left side of the screen under "REGULAR WEEKLY COLUMNS". New stories are listed under "HEADLINES" on the main page. The newest ones are at the top and older stories get pushed off the bottom. Our advertisers are listed in the right column. The main home page starts over every month.

If you like "current news" you'll find that following us on Twitter will get the headlines to you as we get them.

If you haven't noticed, newspapers are going to the web - no choice. Many newspapers do not print at all anymore. We are one of the pioneers in that group. We hope you enjoy our new design. We welcome your comments and suggestions anytime.

You are going to see some major changes very soon. We hope to make your reading experience more enjoyable.

Why did you change the format? I liked the old one just fine.

We are now in our 11th year of publishing a newspaper. During those years we have had to make numerous changes. Some have been by my choice and some by necessity due to server/host changes, program updates, new programs and more. The current changes are a combination of choice and necessity. There are several reasons for the change in format:

1. The old style is no longer available. The new version of the old program does not do what the old one did. I don't like the new one and don't believe the readers would. It would be harder to read.

2. If you go look at any newspaper, TV or radio station news website, you'll find they are all similar to our new format. I guess it's just the way things are nowadays.

3. Advertisers can now advertise on one page, all pages or pick their favorite pages. The new trend in advertising is to pay per click instead of paying by the week or month for a certain size ad. They can also track the number of clicks and the user's geographical area.

4. Readers can pick what stories they want to read and the ads they want to see. We already have the articles sorted by Headlines and Community information. It is much easier to choose what you want and so easy to get back to the beginning and choose something else.

5. We can make changes any time of any day without affecting the rest of the news website. New Headlines are added to the top. You get a new page at the beginning of each month. We are already adding new stories as they happen. The website changes daily, not just once a week.

There are several more changes and enhancements that we have not yet had time to implement, but are coming soon. We had hoped to have all the new stuff online by 1/1/2010, but that didn't happen. We thought it best to allow people to see the changes as they happen. That way we get feedback, ideas, questions, info on our mistakes, etc., and readers get use to it or unsubscribe, whichever they prefer. So far we have new subscribers 3-1 over unsubscribers and readership has already quadrupled.

Thank you for reading, your questions, comments and understanding.
