County gets $131,000 for emergency food and shelter
Mohave County has been awarded more than $131,000 in federal funds to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county.
County officials and local organizations must have applications in by today, March 19, for a portion of the allotment. The funds are part of $200 million appropriated by Congress to supplement and expand resources across the nation. Agencies receiving the federal funds can use the money for mass shelter, mass feedings and food distribution through pantries or food banks. People facing utility cutoffs can get assistance from the fund. The money can even be used to prevent evictions for one month.
