Liquor license denied for purple bar
A liquor license request for a Fort Mohave adult-only bar was denied Monday by the county supervisors.
The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office opposed the request because of the location of the bar in relation to Valley View Medical Center, as well as the Baptist church and an elementary school. Also, there have been numerous drug related crimes, underage dancers and other criminal activities. Valley View Medical Center spokesman Barry Schofield said the hospital opposed the transfer for the liquor license because of ambulance and helicopter traffic. District 2 Supervisor Tom Sockwell said he would not support this and the liquor license transfer was denied.
