3.9 Wikieup - $2000 Reward in iIlegal steer butchering

The Mohave County Sheriff's Office is looking for the person responsible for killing and butchering a steer in northwest Arizona. It happened between 2 and 5 p.m. Friday in an area west of Wikieup and south of Yucca, on Alamo Rd between Planet Ranch Rd and Chicken Springs Rd.

Deputies say the suspects entered the corral by cutting through the barbed wire fence. The steer was shot and killed. The suspect then opened the gate, which allowed the rest of the cattle to escape. MCSO says the suspect left the scene in a hurry, traveling by vehicle in a wash and into the desert.

The Mohave Livestock Association is offering $1,000 and the ranch owner is contributing $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible.
