High speed chase ends with extreme DUI
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Herbert Smith IV, 27, of Fort Mohave, Thursday morning 3.11 for DUI with a blood alcohol concentration over .20% and a warrant for failure to pay fines issued by Bullhead City Justice Court, all misdemeanors.
Shortly after 1:00 a.m. deputies observed a vehicle traveling south on Highway 95 at a speed of 64 miles per hour in a posted 45 mph zone. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Chaparral Drive west of Highway 95 and contacted Smith, the driver. Deputies smelled an odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. Smith admitted to have been drinking. A record check showed Smith to have an outstanding warrant. Following the field sobriety tests (FST’s), Smith was taken into custody and transported to the Mohave County District II Substation where an analysis revealed his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) to be .294%. He was booked into the jail without incident. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Put American workers back to work: Call or email us today and let GSX help your business to grow.
