5.4 Mohave County - MCSO needs help in Kingman murder

Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of Christopher J Gillespie, 37, of Kingman, who died of multiple gun shot wounds.

Monday evening 4.12, at about 9:12 p.m., detectives and deputies responded to Old Trails Road, near the second Black Bridge, where Kingman Police Officers were at the scene of a deceased male later identified as Gillespie. Upon arrival, Kingman Police Officers advised that the victims’ girlfriend contacted them and led them to the scene.

Gillespie was shot at least 4 times with a high powered rifle. Investigators believe that the victim Gillespie was transported to the location where he was possibly ambushed by unknown subject(s).

Two people are being interviewed as investigative leads. They are identified as Norman Corley, 35, of Kingman, and Dana Schick, 23, of Kingman. Schick reported the incident to law enforcement. Schick was transported into town by Corley where she notified Kingman Police Department, who contacted MCSO.

The investigation continues and anyone with information is to contact Detective Steve Parker at Mohave County Sheriff’s Office at (928) 753-0753 or Mohave Silent Witness (928) 753-1234.
