Man charged with killing girlfriend’s son
A Las Vegas man has been charged with first-degree murder after his girlfriend’s 2-year-old son died of severe head injuries.
Diego Nochebuena, 28, was arrested Tuesday, four days after Axel Caro was pronounced dead at North Vista Hospital. Nochebuena had called 911 the night of July 9, saying the boy was gagging and convulsing. He was unresponsive when he arrived at the hospital. The Clark County Coroner’s Office told police the boy had multiple unexplained bruises on his head and an X-ray revealed two broken clavicles. According to an arrest report, Nochebuena and the boy’s mother, Luzbet Caro, said the child fell several days earlier and bumped his head. Acute cerebral hemorrhage was deemed the official cause of death. Both were scheduled to undergo a polygraph examination, but police said before the test was given, Nochebuena admitted to detectives that he hit the boy on top of the head. “Diego stated that he got very angry at the child because he was very tired, the child would not take his medicine and would not go to sleep,” police wrote in the report. Nochebuena is being held at the Clark County Detention Center. No charges have been filed against Caro’s mother. Call or email us today and let GSX help your business to grow.
