Progress on Bullhead City/Laughlin 2nd bridge over Colorado River
A western Arizona bridge proposal that has seen its share of troubled waters has cleared another hurdle, according to a report from KTVN, Reno.
Clark County, NV Commissioners voted this week to approve a recommendation from the Laughlin Town Advisory Board endorsing the bridge connecting the south end of Bullhead Parkway for a second link from Bullhead City to Laughlin. The bridge is scheduled for completion in 2014 for a cost of around $50 million to $60 million. The lead engineer on the project says the completion date depends on the ability of local jurisdictions to fund the project. For more than a decade, both cities along the river have pushed for a second bridge to help ease the stress and strain on the bridge at the north end near the casino district.
