VOTE TODAY: Election opinions in the county are mixed as voters go for the primary election
Polls open at 6:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m.
Some residents say they are voting and are happy with the pool of candidates. Others say they wanted more candidate options. People should make their candidate decisions based on who is the most likely to make intelligent decisions. According to the Mohave County Elections Department, voters registered as Independent, Reform or party not designated can go to their regular polling place, show their identification and ask for a Democratic, Republican or Green party ballot. This is one of the most important elections this county has ever had because of the debt we are in and the direction we are headed. Most people are concerned about the U.S. becoming a socialist country. Most people are not worried as much about local politics as they are about national. Voters will decide today between Republican gubernatorial candidates Gov. Jan Brewer and Matthew Jette. Four Libertarian candidates, Ron Cavanaugh, Barry Hess, Bruce Olsen and Alvin Ray Yount also will seek a place on the November general election ballot. U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona) will face Jim Deakin and J.D. Hayworth in the primary. Four Democrats, John Dougherty, Cathy Eden, Rodney Glassman and Randy Parraz, also will appear on the ballot for the U.S. Senate seat. Voters also will choose candidates to move onto the general election for state treasurer, superintendent of public instruction, secretary of state, attorney general and the Arizona Corporation Commission. Favored are Gov. Jan Brewer for governor, J.D. Hayworth for U.S. Senate, and Andrew Thomas for Attorney General. Don't forget to vote. Call or email us today and let GSX help your business to grow.
