Baby girl 2½ months left in car, dies
A baby girl 2½ months old, who was left inside a vehicle for over five hours in Kingman, has died.
The baby was left unattended, according to Kingman Police Lt. Rusty Cooper. The temperature inside the vehicle was over 100° in the vehicle on Monday. Lt. Cooper said the father, 21, forgot his daughter was in the vehicle when he arrived home about 10:30 a.m. and parked in the driveway and went into his residence on Calumet. Cooper said the man later remembered he had left his daughter, and the infant was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead at mid-afternoon. The names of the parties have not been released and Child Protective Services has been notified. Lt. Cooper said no one has been arrested. He said the Mohave County attorney's office will determine what charges will be filed, if any, once the police investigation is completed.
