California murder suspects arrested in Mohave Valley
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Michael William Ross, 26, and Danielle Jana Strawn, 25, both of Long Beach, CA., Saturday morning.
Ross was arrested on a felony warrant for arrest prior to requisition issued out of Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Strawn was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and an arrest prior to requisition warrant issued out of California Department of Corrections, all felonies. MCSO was contacted by the United States Marshals Office regarding two fugitives from justice out of California that may be at a residence in Mohave Valley. Michael Ross was a suspect and has an outstanding felony warrant for homicide that occurred on 9/3/10 in Santa Ana California. Danielle Strawn was a parolee at large and has an outstanding felony warrant for parole violation out of California. At about 7:30 a.m., members of MCSO and the United States Marshals Office responded to a residence in the 1900 block of Arditto Drive. Upon arrival, Ross was standing outside of the residence and he started running away from deputies. After a short foot pursuit Ross was taken into custody without further incident. Strawn was contacted inside the residence where she was taken into custody without incident. A search warrant was executed at the residence and the search revealed multiples pipes with residue, a plastic bag containing marijuana and a large quantity of methamphetamine approximately 2.5 grams. Strawn admitted to possession of the methamphetamine. The two were transported and booked into the Mohave County District II Substation. Authorities say Ross was in the Hawaiian Gardens Casino in Santa Ana, Calif., on Sept. 3 when he saw Chi Ngoc Bui cash in after winning a jackpot of approximately $10,000. Ross is accused of calling the other defendants, Ted Carroll, 41, and Barbara Hamel, 47, and tipping them off about the jackpot win. Carroll and Hamel caught up to Bui in Orange County where they allegedly tried to rob him at knifepoint then ran over his head as they fled in their car, according to a press release from the U.S Marshals Service. Carroll and Hamel were arrested earlier this month. Additional charges are pending for the property renter David Robert Morris, 34, for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
