Man arrested on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Armando Alvarez Acosta, 38, of Mohave Valley, Saturday morning for resisting arrest, aggravated assault, felonies, along with assault per domestic violence and disorderly conduct per domestic violence, misdemeanors.
At about 2:00 a.m., deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 2200 block of Mustang Drive. Upon arrival, deputies observed a vehicle pulling out of the driveway. Deputies then observed a male subject, later identified as Acosta, jump onto the hood of the vehicle screaming. As deputies approached the vehicle, Acosta jumped off the hood and ran into the front yard. Deputies tried to calm Acosta down, but he continued yelling and becoming hostile. As deputies approached Acosta to take him into custody, Acosta resisted. After a brief struggle, Acosta was taken into custody. During the struggle, Acosta was struck to release a hold he on the deputy’s hand. Acosta and the deputy both refused medical attention. Deputies contacted Acosta’s son, an 18-year-old victim who reported that they were arguing when his dad swung at him a couple times. Deputies contacted Acosta’s wife, a 34-year-old victim. The victim reported that she was holding her husband back as he was enraged and swinging. Acosta was transported and booked into the Mohave County District II Substation without further incident.
