Man with knife arrested for domestic violence, resisting arrest
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Henry Roy Marcellus, 51, of Mohave Valley, Saturday for resisting arrest, felony, along with assault per domestic violence, assault per domestic violence and preventing use of telephone for emergency purposes, domestic violence.
At about 4:00 p.m. deputies responded to a domestic violence call in the 10500 block of S Copper Lane. Officers from Fort Mohave Tribal Police were at the scene. Deputies learned that the female victim, 51, was outside of the residence while Marcellus, her husband, was inside the residence. The victim reported that Marcellus became upset and he started choking her. She said she attempted to call 911 a couple times, but Marcellus hit her in the eye when he threw the phone. Deputies observed the victims left eye to be bruised and swollen. After several attempts using a public address system, Marcellus came out of his residence. Marcellus was uncooperative when deputies asked him to remove his hands from his pockets. As deputies approached Marcellus he tensed up and pulled away. During a brief struggle, Marcellus was taken into custody. Deputies located a folding knife with a six inch blade in his front pants pocket where he refused to remove his hand.
