1.23 Kingman - BREAKING NEWS: ESCAPEE MORRISON CAPTURED in Kingman

Mohave County Sheriff’s Detectives and Deputies apprehended Darren Eugene Morrison, 26, of Bullhead City, early Monday evening.

Last Wednesday (1/18) Morrison was being transported from the Mohave County Jail in Kingman for a court appearance when he escaped from the transport van near the rear entrance of the court house in Kingman.

Late Monday afternoon, at about 4:00 p.m., detectives received information of a person matching the description of Morrison in the downtown area of Kingman on Copper Street.

Detectives responded to the area and the subject took off running. The Sheriff’s Tactical Operations Unit responded. The area was immediately contained and a perimeter was established.

At about 5:00 p.m., Morrison was located in a wash area, south of Interstate 40 and east of Beale Street, behind a fast food restaurant and a convenience store. Morrison was taken into custody.

He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail without incident. Morrison was arrested on a felony warrant for escape. Kingman Police Department Officers and Department of Public Safety Officers assisted.
