Police chase, catch, arrest man on numerous felony charges
Bullhead City Police arrested Howard Maurice Wood Jr., 33, on numerous felony charges after a foot pursuit.
On Wednesday at about 3:45 p.m., police attempted to pick-up Wood for an outstanding felony warrant in the 1000 block of Gemstone Drive. When Wood saw officers, he took off running. Police set up a perimeter around the area but could not locate him. During the search, police discovered that Wood had broken into a home in the 1700 block of Highland Road and was hiding in the laundry room. Wood later asked the residents for some water because the cops were chasing him. A resident pushed him out of the house, but Wood tried to come back inside the house. When Wood was pushed out a second time, he took off running. Police spotted him in the 1000 block of Hancock Road. Wood, who is a prohibited possessor, was carrying a small chrome handgun and pointed it in the direction of pursuing officers. He was also in possession of several prescription only pills (muscle relaxers) and hypodermic needles. In addition to an outstanding felony warrant for failure to appear, Howard Wood was arrested for possession of prescription only drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, misconduct involving weapons, disorderly conduct, aggravated assault and trespassing. He was booked into the Mohave County Jail, Kingman.
