Las Vegas man shot after robbery attempt
11/9 Las Vegas - A man was shot after three men approached two men in a car in front of an apartment complex to steal a cell phone from them Monday night. The attempted robbery happened at about 8:00 p.m. in front of an apartment complex.
The driver attempted to flee, and one of the robbers shot a round through the driver's door, striking the driver in the thigh. The car crashed into a palm tree, and the two men in the car ran, police said. A good samaritan picked up the man who had been shot and drove him to Mountain View Hospital. He was then transported to Sunrise Hospital with a non-life-threatening wound, police said. Detectives are investigating, and police said they did not think the shooting was gang-related.
