Mohave Valley DUI on Saturday night
Mohave County Sheriff’s conducted a traffic stop Saturday at about 10:00 p.m. on northbound Highway 95. Deputies observed a vehicle severely swerving in the number two lane. The vehicle stopped on Cottonwood Drive. Deputies smelled alcohol coming from the vehicle. The driver admitted to have been drinking earlier. A record check revealed the driver to have a suspended driver's license and a warrant.
Deputies arrested James Patrick Shirden, 51, of Lake Havasu City, for aggravated DUI, felony, and a failure to pay fines misdemeanor warrant issued by Lake Havasu Municipal Court. The field sobriety tests analysis revealed his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) to be .202%. Shirden was transported to the Mohave County District II Substation where he was booked into the jail without incident. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
