Maintenance bond override downed by Topock voters
11/4 Topock Elementary School District 12 voters defeated both questions on Tuesday's ballot.
According to the Mohave County Election Department, both questions were defeated by more than a 2-1 margin. The questions pertained to a maintenance override bond that would have allowed the district to increase its budget. Question 1 was defeated 148-65, with 69% of the 213 votes cast against the measure. Question 2 met a similar fate with a 149-67 preliminary vote count, again representing a 69% rejection. It was a sparse ballot in the county - only voters in Lake Havasu City and its school district, the Topock school district and the Peach Springs school district had measures to be decided.
