Local trash truck theft

Golden Shores - Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responded Monday 11/2 to a local trash business on Adobe Place in Fort Mohave regarding an auto theft report. Deputies contacted the manager who reported that their trash truck was parked in their business parking lot when it was picked up by a tow company. The manager further said that she located their vehicle at a tow company in Needles. It was determined that "Sandoval" instructed the tow company to remove the vehicle and Sandoval received a check for turning over the vehicle to a salvage yard.

Shortly after 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday 11/11 deputies contacted Sandoval at a residence on Shore Parkway in Golden Shores. Sandoval, he said that he decided to clean up the community on his own and that a friend of his suggested that he take that truck in his community cleanup. Sandoval said he contacted the salvage yard to pick the truck up and he did receive payment.

Deputies arrested Michael Jon Sandoval, 44, of Golden Shores, for theft of means of transportation and fraudulent chemes, felonies. Sandoval was booked into the Mohave County District II Substation.
