Barking dogs to be curtailed
Barking dogs is a subject frequently read at this news service, especially from Golden Shores.
There is a county ordinance, Article 5, Section 2, which states, "It shall be unlawful for an owner to keep or harbor within the County of Mohave any dog which barks, howls or makes other aggravating noises, which unreasonably disturbs the peace and quiet of a neighborhood." Animal Control is charged with enforcing this ordinance. They ask complainants to keep a log containing dates, times and length of the barking. According to Trish Carter, Mohave County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman, the disturbing dogs should be recorded for several consecutive days. An officer attempts to determine the reason for the barking. If Animal Control receives complaints from more than one resident, it allows them to determine that it is not just bickering neighbors. County officers take a lot into consideration. Incidents can consist of anything from the wind direction to prowlers. Some situations are beyond the control of the owner. But once a determination is made by an officer and a citation is issued, the case belongs to the court from that point. Call or email us today and let GSX help your business to grow.
