Protect your email and your pocketbook
The following is a message we received two days ago from a reader.
"This past week, someone hacked into my email and send a message to everyone in my address book. The message said that I was stuck in New England and that I needed $900 really fast. They didn't leave an address just a phone number. Thank God everyone know's me very well so no one made the phone call. I do think people should know this could happen to them. I now have a new email address." We have no idea how someone hacked into this reader's email. It is always a good idea to change your password often. Anytime you even think someone might have your information, change it. There are too many scammers out there, especially with the job market the way it is. Don't EVER fall for the story from someone you don't know to send money to a friend or relative. Just try to find out who they are and report them to authorities.
